Dr. Angelo Tellis

Dr. Angelo Tellis has honed his aesthetic skills since 2011 working with experts on a national and international basis. He specializes in a more natural, less invasive but high-tech approach to meeting your aesthetic needs. He has almost a decade of experience performing procedures such as Tumescent Liposuction, Lipotransfer, and Scarless Breast Reduction using a minimally invasive approach all in an office procedure room setting at New Bern’s Aegean Medical. Dr. Tellis developed a passion and interest in the field of cosmetic surgery based on the work he was doing using stem cells derived from adipose (fat) tissue. He received very specialized post-graduate training in the field and has trained with experts in Greece, Italy, Switzerland, New York, and Miami.

Dr. Tellis is a native of Charleston, SC, and has both Greek and Italian heritage with his family in Greece coming from the island of Chios in the Aegean Sea. He is married to his beautiful wife, Sarah, who founded a Christian nonprofit organization to stop human trafficking called True Justice International. They have three wonderful children together. He has traveled extensively including medical mission trips to Greece, India, and Africa and he enjoys learning about new cultures. He is truly passionate about his work and enjoys spending time with his patients and seeing the smiles on their faces when they return after treatments.

Dr. Tellis has been practicing medicine in North Carolina since 1999. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency training at the Medical College of Virginia. He has double-board certification both in Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He attended Marshall University for his undergraduate degree on a full academic scholarship as a member of The Society of Yeager Scholars with a rigorous and diverse educational experience that included studies abroad at Oxford University (Christ Church Campus) and at an international college in Cannes, France. He was able to graduate summa cum laude with a major in psychology and pre-medical curriculum.

Sara Burrington, NP

Sara Burrington is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who began her advanced practice career in 2023 after relocating to North Carolina with her husband and young twins. She began her nursing career in 2014, graduating magna cum laude from National University, where she served as president of the Student Nurses Association. Her clinical experience spans emergency medicine, intensive care, and perioperative services, all of which laid a strong foundation for her transition into advanced practice.

Driven by a passion for holistic and preventive care, Sara earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Sonoma State University, graduating summa cum laude. She is a certified BioTe provider and currently practices at Aegean Medical, where she helps patients achieve hormonal balance and improved quality of life through bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Originally from a small town in Northern Vermont, Sara was raised by a watercolor artist and a civil engineer—an upbringing that instilled in her a love for both creative expression and hands-on problem-solving. Outside of work, she enjoys tackling home improvement projects, experimenting in the kitchen, and relaxing with a glass of wine and blues music.
